We had a single datastore that became a bottleneck due to several complex high-volume queries.
Normally we have automated systems to handle such events but this time the servers CPU hit 100% immediately which prevented the automated systems from executing fast enough.
Our operations team immediately started to fix the issue manually and within minutes we were back up.
